Jurors Flocking to Trump Trial

Cartoon: The ex-President is attracting jurors like flies on honey.

Donald Trump has been inside a half-dozen courthouses over the past year, but he had a new experience walking into a downtown Manhattan courtroom Monday morning: a half-empty room. Only a handful of hardcore MAGA supporters stood outside to cheer him telling reporters the trial thing was wearing thin even for them.

“Where are the crowds? Isn’t this a rally?”

In a desperate attempt to reverse the numbers Trump apparently fired a few posts on Truth Social: “We won this election, and we won it by a landslide”, “We will stop the steal”, “We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn't happen” a reference to the effort required to get a jury to acquit? “If the glove don’t fit you must acquit” oops wrong trial… finally he ended with “If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore”. Where have we heard that before?

But then, following this, people flocked to the courthouse on the final call “We are going to the Courthouse”. Hundreds of hopeful (MAGA) jurors arrived at the downtown Manhattan courthouse.

“It’s like January 6th all over again!”

Moments later the crowd reversed direction and charged back out of the courthouse. Apparently Trump’s posts were generated by an anti-MAGA AI bot - riot police were lying in wait. Only in NY, folks.

“Christ, get out of here - it ain’t no Capitol Hill!”
