Pole Vaulter Shocks Paris by Jumping River Seine
Cartoon: Gold medal pole vaulter smashes world record by jumping the river Seine.
Celebrated Swedish Olympic pole vaulter Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis won the gold medal in Paris and broke the world record for the highest jump. To celebrate his latest Olympic victory he attempted a feat never seen before - vaulting over the River Seine!
"I was really excited about winning the gold medal and thought it would be fun to celebrate with an even bigger jump. I wanted to vault the Seine to highlight the risks of pollution and sharks."
He also showed Parisians how they can expand the trend for 15 minute cities by bouncing between them on a pole. He believes that pole vaulting is the best way to get around built up areas while avoiding bikes and cars. Could this help stimulate a new generation of pole vaulters? Parkour athletes are sceptical.
