Once upon a time, Davos was a gentle alpine sleep aid: pin-striped suits, pie charts nobody understood, and entire front rows drifting off by slide three. Then politics smelled a microphone.
What follows is a three-act tragedy-turned-farce in which technocrats are parachuted over, podiums are violently repossessed, and global economics is replaced by slide deck nationalism. Gazilionaires are left quaking in their ski boots at the thought of their cosy, clubby winter retreat taken over by the technocrats they were meant to depose.
Consider this less World Economic Forum and more World Ego Wrestling - where the charts are optional, the volume is maxed out, and Greenland is suddenly very, very American.
